It is amazing how Shimano continues to make reels that are almost impossible to self-service, requiring specialized equipment to remove certain parts.
Bear this in mind when you take this project on. For example - The Drive Shaft bearing needs to be literally forced off the shaft, risking damage to the bearing - there is no other way without specialized equipment that doesn't come with the reel.
Another example is the Rotor Nut, tucked inside the Body housing, it is difficult to remove without a specialized wrench.

Those just wanting to remove bearings and service them, this is where I recommend that you stop!!
From here on, things become increasingly complicated.


















That's the disassembly done.
Clean all parts in Benzine, and scrub with a toothbrush.
Oil all bearings and liberally grease all moving parts with a quality grease like Cal's or Kingfisher/Daiwa Red.
Now let's put it all back together again!

Replace the Spool and you're done!
If you want to service the Drag system, this is relatively straightforward...
Firstly, remove the screws holding the Drag together.
Then...

These washers are Oiled felt. Inspect and clean in Benzine, then thorough drying on Paper towels. They should NOT be greased, rather oiled with a quality Oil like ReelX.
