I plan on fishing a bit further out with at least one rod... Say 120m out. Will any of you be targeting barbel?

Ok cool, there is a massive drop off right in fron though, which gets shallower after 50 meters, the guys I am going with have caught Carp 6 - 8 kgs on dough with a cast of no more than 30 meters...

Yep we will be targeting Barbel as well, why do you ask?

You're worried about the peanuts after WK is adding dark spirits to his bomb? :cnfzd:

Gareth, a nice mix :+ cred: .  :shre: Something I have used for a weight bomb on the line is as follows.
It is a mix of equal parts, bread or whole wheat flour, meilie meal, No1 chick chick, sugar(brown or white) and water along with some egg yellow for colouring.Mix the whole lot together and nuke in the microwave, time is based upon the quantity, I used to make 5 cups of each and nuke for 10-15 mins.
The result should be slightly sticky, the cooked sugar should give it a caramel flavour and the chick chick should have cooked and swollen. You can add all sorts of things to it, chopped luncheon meat worked well, bird seed and even your beans and peanuts, not tried peanuts but I did grind up some cooked tigernuts and if you can get it cooked hemp seed is deadly
I tend to use an inline sinker, and I wrap it with elastoplast, this gives the bomb something to grip onto, alternatively use a bait spring.
tight lines

when I die, may my wife not sell my fishing tackle for what I told her I paid for it... and I have bought more, a severe case of TA
