At Lobito the couple days we decided to target Marlin was EPIC let me describe a bit the picture..
So I arrived in Lobito brought the boat and rested for a couple day when to the tackle shop and for 2 days just prepared tackle from scratch, all my 50W Penn reels, braid backing 80lb line, all the lures leaders teasers that I had bought long ago and had never used complemented with some moldcraft I bought at the Lobito tackle shop, and during two days researched a bit more on the internet and started looking at Temp, currents, bottom contour, etc.

With Lobito potential productive bottoms mapped and some info on temp and currents decided to prepare "the team".
The Team: Me , my father in Law (70 years old), his brother, wife's sister husband and wife's sister husband dad (80 years old)
None of them had ever fished big game before

First day training small lures and train the team with dorado, outriggers, cleaning rods, etc. the ropes....
Result one medium Tuna, one Saily and loads of dorado's some on the small casting rod

Second day training small lures and medium Sailfish lures and the same routine but this time getting out early and exploring the area, trolling north on the outside and returning on the inside.
Result lost the biggest Tuna I've ever seen Dorado and another Saily

Got a couple days to rest the team and went on to prepare "the complete spread" for the first Marlin expedition, 5 Rod Spread with some Big Lures on the short positions and medium ones on the long positions the idea was big for marlin and medium for marlin/sailfish or Dorado
First day targeting Marlin
Run 35 miles north and started from there, not 5 minutes had passed since lines where in the water and BAM a 400 Kg class Marlin on the line and no real team to deal with it

Two hours fighting and the second time the fish was near the boat I decided to pick the leader and break it knowing I had no angler / leader men to finish that kind of fish without killing it and taking the team to exhaustion.

Started move south and half an hour after on Sailfish for the 70 year old angler, nice and easy have a bit of the film of the release but none of the fight......
Went South and BAM another Marlin, this time a smaller one one for the 70 year old angler and my brother in law on the leader, no filming but a couple pics

South again and after 20/30 minutes a double strike of Marlins, Couple of Jumping fish and lines cut, lines out at 2 o'clock and headed home because it was too much already, I think we had Marlin enough.....

Next day Marco Couto and Mr. Silva from Tubaroes Fishing Team joined us, this time I just watched and showed locations, Marco layed out his spread and Mr. Silva skipped and after a couple hours one Marlin went for the teaser Marco brought rod near hit and got a strike I fought the smaller Marlin and landed it, no more strikes for the day.

This was the story of our Marlin end of the year expeditions, here is a little video of the Last Marlin we caught in 2011
