Hi everyone,
I am glad to report that we had a good day`s fishing. The day started of a bit shaky with a rough sea of 2.5m very close on one another, but we pushed on and went north deep about 45km out deep, as we reached the 100m mark the water was clean and the water tempreature picked up to around 25 degrees where we put our lures out, at around 700m we had a strike on the left short by a small stripey, but no hookup. We continued to the 1200m where we hooked on to a Dorado of 18kg and later one of 11kg but on bills, here we had several other dorado strikes, but without hookups as we were targeting Marlin and Dorados were considered bycatch. We decided to head furher north, but shallower and at 900m we had a stike on left short by a Stripey - hookup for 15 seconds and off, I immediatly tabbed off and then accelerated almost full throttle and on again! We took around 5 minutes to bring it in and release it. Heading back to port at 90m we got hit hard by a mother of a Black on right long which took about 600m of line in no time (I guess it to be 250 to 300kgs) we were on for about 10 minutes and gained back about 100 to 150 meters when it shook the hooks - what a dissapointment at the time! but looking back we had a great time. Some pictures included.
