Vaal Dam Het Hom & Inloop
« on: November 23, 2011, 11:21:22 AM »
Hi guys this is where I am fishing this weekend with Assalient and a couple of guys that arent on the forum. This will be my first fishing session in the Vaal Dam and I was just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience at this venue? Dips, baits, cast distance, species etc.

Also Im a bit screwed because I believe its not that easy to find, I can get to Oranjeville but from there I am lost. I believe you go past a squatter camp, turn somewhere at Tago and then drive a dirt road for 30 minutes... Any help would be awesome!  :tkx: in advance

Have you got any other details for this place?

Take the R716 and then the R549 then take the R57 and take the Parys turn off. In parys take the R500 north about 10 km later you will get the Eastco sign on your right - once you are there we will tell you where it is. After you straff doppe

directions to tago on their website:
www.tago.co.za

Might be past Tago where the Wilge River runs into the dam...

We were just across from Tago this weekend and I got a lot of fish on Juana flavoured mielies from Supercast. It costs about R14 a bottle. Even yellows like it...

Walks start with very small sweet past baits plain sweet dough made from normal flour ( not self raising ) and dam water . On a sliding rietvlei rig . Fish from 40m to 100m until you find the fish. Only use boll dips : e.g. FX, Perdeby, Devils fork

We did catch fish on anything... From dough tp floaties. Even barbel on floaties. The reason I used the mielies was because its the fastest and cleanest way of re-baiting. No dips, just mielie. And the tempo on the mielies was up there with anything. The guy next to me was fishing dough from the start and although he caught more fish than me, they were mostly small. He eventually came and started using my mielies...lol!
