Boys & Girls

I got an tremendous good response from the owner of the rods I sent to Sweden. Now he gave me a very good compliment and it got me thinking.

Being on a few Fishing/Rodbuilding Forums locally and abroad I do see a lot of builds on a regular basis and I know what sort of quality myself and others on this forum and elsewhere in South Africa puts out.

I just want to congratulate the South African Rodbuilders cause we are more than capable of competing with the best out there. Whether it's Flyrods, Spinning, Deepsea, Jigging, Popping, R & S, it doesn't matter, cause in most cases our quality and attention to detail is something that few out there can match.

I salute you all and I am proud to be an South African

Mooi Koos... Well done! But I think you're selling yourself a bit short here... too humble 'an all!! There are very few guys that can match you for quality of build!

Wow Reefs that is a huge compliment and I am humbled by it :tkx:

I try  my best to give a client something that even I would like and I came to a point where I am happy with what I want to achieve on a build, but I must admit there are better builders than me out there.

I know that some people only do Flyrods and others just do Carp and they are bloody good at what they do and then you get those that can build any rod imaginable and thats what I would like to be able to do someday.

Come next year, I will be focusing more on the Salt. Starting with Ultra Lite Fly Rods for the Surf right up to Rods for Marlin.

I have two Marlin rods that I want to start working on, but first I would like to get  out a bit for some fishing as I didn't have much of it this year.

I am off to Cape Town tomorrow for some Smallstream Fishing, really looking forward to that :rck"
