No Geno, they were very much alive. They were all kept on a keep rope.

But at the moment they are allowing culling of everything up to 800 grams and that decision was made by the manager of the dam. This is not something I enjoy doing cz it just feels so wrong however it is done in the best interest of the fishery.

Tight lines

Cool stuff. Culling's a very good measure to get the big ones even bigger! I'll definitely make a turn at Tuckers when i'm down there again.

Cheers.

great catches, size is not important  :dunno:
but you stuck it out, well done nice fish, it's interesting to note the size of the hook to the fish, luckily it's not exponetial, imagine throwing a 500gm hook
when I die, may my wife not sell my fishing tackle for what I told her I paid for it... and I have bought more, a severe case of TA

Dodger,in Natal or the part where we stay, our kids school
Swimming is compulsory. She was asked by the school if
She wanted to take part in the Midmar mile for her age group.

If I insisted she wear a life jacket on a
Perfectly flat dam in an inflatable when
 the school feels she can
Take part in a swimming race of a mile long with
Hundreds of other her age, I think she would feel abit
Insulted by that.

Could I please ask you to not insult me as a parent with
Regards to the safety of my children. This is the wrong
Forum to be discussing proper parenting anyway.

Let's stick to fishing please.

Please no insult was intended, It's just something that is dear to my heart about safety when afloat.
My kids could swim like fishes but, at that age they put on life jackets, it's not a pride thing.
Falling over board and being able to swim is a bonus, falling over board and banging your head on a rock, or getting fishing line wrapped around you etc can be a problem.
It's not about parenting it's about safety, if you are happy without the life jacket then nothing more to add
when I die, may my wife not sell my fishing tackle for what I told her I paid for it... and I have bought more, a severe case of TA
