how to make your slide go out quicker
« on: August 15, 2011, 11:16:08 PM »
good day all

shared this on kznfishing and since the sliding method is the most common method we internet anglers use, i though i would share with UA as well.

small history.....while fishing with ESA, always noticed raymond getting quicker bights although we used bait out the same box, cast in almost the same area etc.....

i did get the bights as well...but it always took more time than him. also noticed he never had a slide tangling problem or not reaching the sinker problem etc etc....

after some time he showed me something. was a very well guarded secret and only a handfull knew about this. works like a bomb.....tried and trusted.

happy angling all. pics to follow.

ps.....there is a scientific explanation to why this would work. jace from kznfishing gave a well written expalanation which ended up baffling all our brains. i know he visits this site, im sure he will repeat it.

all that did physics should understand why this will work.

ciao :tite

any idea why the manufacturers make it they way that they do? Are they  deliberately trying to prevent easy sliding?

i have no idea what bights are....

"In geography, bight   has two meanings. A bight can be simply a bend or curve in any   geographical feature—usually a bend or curve in the line between land   and water.  Alternatively, the term can refer to a large (and often only slightly receding) bay. It is distinguished from a sound by being shallower. Traditionally explorers defined a bight as a bay that could be sailed out of on a single tack in a square-rigged   sailing vessel, regardless of the direction of the wind (typically   meaning the apex of the bight is less than 25 degrees from the edges)."

Hope that helps, Homie!!!  :crzy

Maybe something to do with the change in angle , between the line and coils of the slide , everything more or less in a straight line ..  :dunno:

The force applied (at end points of the lever) is proportional to the ratio of the length of the lever arm measured between the fulcrum (pivoting point) and application point of the force applied at each end of the lever.
Mathematically, this is expressed by M = Fd, where F is the force, d is the perpendicular distance between the force and the fulcrum, and M is the turning force known as the moment or torque.

The principles of lever is simple. It works on two principles. One is the length and other is the point of a pivot.

I am sure all off you have a door by you. Now try this with just your finger.

Try and close the door with your finger where the door knob is.

Now try to close the door 10 cm from the hinge.

You will notice that you need 10 times the force to close the same door at the hinge rather than the knob. Its the same with the slide.

I assume this applies to the slide as well but I stand to be corrected,
