Custom rods?
« on: July 14, 2011, 06:10:12 PM »
(bat  me if this is a stupid idea, but I just thought I would love to hang a few custom UA branded rods in my garage.

What are the chances of UA teaming up with a quality custom rod builder and providing custom built UA branded rods??

This is probably a very stupid suggestion and the cons probably outweigh the pros, but I had to ask.

I have no idea what custom rod building entails etc... so  (bat  away... I can take it w;k

With custom building, you supply the Graphics to the rodbuilder and he can do whatever you want!

The guy to speak to with regards custom building rods is ET... his quality is unsurpassed! Hand made by himself. And a Graphic designer of note!

Now is not a good time to go fishing... said nobody... EVER!!

Fritz, agree they have custom rods and then you get CUSTOM rods. Its all about the attention to detail. Question is: You want to pay for dust, un even flex coat and get the rod for free? The blank, guides etc is top class don't get me wrong, just think they become too big to soon. My 2c

Anything is possible when one custom builds a rod.
I always ask people whether or not they would like a theme or a name incorporated into their build. Most people want a subtle clean rod and there is nothing wrong with that, and then you get those that wants that something extra special and here I am not talking about Bells, cause it ain't that special.
I believe that one should put some thought into a build and do something unique. That special once off that no one else have, thats what I want for myself and I bet that there are people out there that feels exactly the same.
Now here is some work of someone I know, just to illustrate what can be achieved....

Here is something I quickly did on the P.C.
Just an idea of how the logo could be used on a rod....

ET, Has anybody ever tried to utilise fish skins in the building of rods or bags, etc.? Wahoo and Dorado have such nice leathery skins it seems a pity not to utilise them somewhere. I know that Silverton Tanners in Pta will do snake skins, etc - if they still exist.
