Anybody got info on the comp taking place there? I have a buddy fishing on a boat called Quicksilver. Any updates would be appreciated!

Just heard news from the Challenge... NE beat the guys really hard and the neap tide didn't help with the jigging... so a lot of couta were caught on drift ... nevertheless some nice GTs were released (all kingies are to be released on this comp!)... Stella released a +30 kg GT... quite a few big ones were lost (remember this is a 20 Lb comp!)

Looks like Cormorant will get 3rd place! Well done!

A few sailies and marlins were also released as well as some nice wahoo...

Yup.. we had 3 tunas underweight.. it was disgraceful. Entirely my fault, I called the fish in to the scale after weighing them (5kgs+) with a fellow angler's scale. We forgot to take ours, entirely my fault and messed up the moral of our crew after a long day's fishing. Something to definitely get over and forget. Negative day. It's was a shame.

Top 3 boats were Sgumfemfe, Ocean Driven and Cormoran (moz) if I recall it right, I was tired and went to sleep earlier then most.

Great job by some boats on marlin releases, 10kg line doesn't leave much room for error. Props to them.  :billf:

2nd fishing day wasn't anything special for us, so 3rd and 4th we decided to entirely go for the calcutta fish given the prize and not go after points.

We got the GT released at 10:30ish, the line broke on a previous strike, it was probably it's cousin.

After 35mins fighting time we were pretty sure we had the calcutta, until we saw it was a GT. Fish was 127cm length, 50 cms height (tummy roundness included of course). Spot was a wahoo spot, was a magnificent fish, we were happy to see it swim away healthy after some secs to fight another day. Fish was caught trolling next to structure, birds and baitfish. I'm 1.87m, 92kgs to give you guys an idea of the fish. He was a fatty. I'll upload the release video on youtube as soon as I get friendly with moz net. Comp comittee estimated the fish at 35kgs looking at their tables.

 :gt:

We'll fish 2012 as well hopefully, it's always a pleasure.

Hi guys.Yes the Inhaca Challange was once again a fantastic outing. As i see most of the news has already been put on this thread.Congrats to all the prize winners in the comp and nice to see one of the Moz boats ( CORMARAN ) finishing in the top three. They really put a lot of KM on the motors that week and are great guys that know how to fish the spots they have in the north.
To all the boats that took part thank you all for a great week of fishing and frienship.
