If i am not mistaken the website is www.baitcarrier.co.za. I will make sure in the morning. I have tried the XL once and they are number one for those Xl Baits.

Mike why dont you take one or two of your new spoons with to test in new waters ?

Mike, seeing that you are on your way to new waters why dont you take on or two of your new spoons with and give them a shot? It would be very interesting to see what efect thei have on other shores then ours.

Nice fritz

You going to get bitten off sooner than later on 90lb steel... raggies arnt steel shy guys get them all the time on 440lb  i would use 120-150lb but thats my opinion...

imagine you get bitten off on that bus raggie of 150kgs because you hooked it on 90lb steel... for bitr traces i use 90lb often and for hammers hounds etc i will even go 60lb but if throwing ull steel trace for raggies atleast 120lb...
Very true Steve... We fish 90lb steele in this area where the larger raggies above 50kgs are scarce but we still take a chance... Latley we have been fishing 150lb though just to be on the safe side as we have been fishing more into the surf...

Thanks for posting Fritz, the way you rig it with the beads and skirt is quite interesting. I have been using the bait carrier in the same way on circle hooks, with one modification....

... I put one rubber "soft" glow bead on the hook, slide on the bait Carrier then slide on another rubber glow bead. This way, the bait carrier stays in position on the hook.

Howzit Frits

I'm doing well thanks! We should organise another get-together this side... maybe make it a show and share event!

I will take a picture of the rig tonight.

Nice post. I'd agree if targeting bigger rags (50kg+) I'd rather have 150lb only on my bite traces do I use 90lb

As Promised:

These are the beads that I use on this rig:

There are other brands available that works just as well!

This is how I rig the bait carrier on my circles:

(note: the barb is not yet squashed in the picture, but I always squash it before fishing)

This keeps the carrier in position, but it will still move out of the way when fighting a fish so it should not prevent a solid hook-up.

These rubber beads are also useful when pinning live baits on a circle hook with the barbs squashed. Pin the bait, then slip on the rubber bead to ensure the hook remains proud and the livey don't wriggle itself off.

Mmmmmm, looks interesting!!!

That could definitely work!!! I am keen to work more with circles and this is a solid idea!

Where can I get some of these nifty bait carriers I have never seen one in a tackle shop, or anywhere for that matter?
