thank you so much!i'll let you know either way, in advance.
i have such withdrawls at the moment i was explaning the beauty of the 2 4wt's to my wife while waving them round the room
:hehe: :hehe: Im sure...

You must also let me know if you want to fly fish or bait fish... I can put you onto some bass, maybe a barbel, but bait is the better way to go though, I can supply tackle  :-)

sweet, i have seen the name around the forums, he seems very experienced.
don't want to ask the guys to many questions as they send hours scouting, working, wading, bruising looking for spots and then i come along and say..."hey! where can i catch a beast of a fish in 3 minutes?"
used to happen to me years ago when i still lived there and out the hours in

Rockspider,
if you are in Gauteng over a weekend I will more than gladly take you to the Vaal for some yellow action. I unfortunately have to work during the week so weekdays are out for me.

The Vaal is not that far from Jo'burg, as you know :-)

PM me for phone numbers if it's in your itenary.

P.S. Rory only uses a 4# on the Vaal.  :shk

There again he is a "finesse" fisherman, and I'm the "Herminator"
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".

hey Herminator,

thank you for the kind offer, i mentioned to WK i am so keen to wet  a line , however my time is rather limited this trip however once i have a more confirmed itinerary i'll let you guys know either way.

if not this time, what about next year ?  :)
we'll be back for a more relaxed trip, or so i hope.

i got smashed on a 4wt last time i was on the vaal but managed a cute barbel, but his mom and dad completely buggered me up, i can only think it was large barbel that took so hard , fought so hard, straightened hooks and caused me to knit trees.
(even the guide was excited )
..........so i went and bought a #5  :clwn

i hardly use the bigger sticks anymore but i hope to tackle a pike over here this winter on a #7

April is a GOOD time for the Vaal, especially if the flows have dropped early and the floods haven't been too severe.
There "should be dry fly fishing coming on around that time as well. w;k

Just keep me in the "loop".
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".
