We had some welcoming rain during the day which helped a lot. I have measured 20mm.  :yipee:

I did the Otter trail the week of the 6th of November. On day 2 we past by some smoldering trees. The fire caused quite a bit of damage on that portion of the trail.

Yes in late November I went through Knysna from Uniondale and the devastation in the forests was unbelievable.

A friend of mine move to Sedgefield about a year ago. He wants to start fishing off his kayak on Swartvlei and progress to the Knysna lagoon at some stage.

WRT Swartvlei , when is the best time to fish i.e. on the incoming or outgoing tide?

Would that apply to the Knysna lagoon as well?

I don't know about Swartvlei but fish the Knysna lagoon with the tide. Move from spot to spot up river as the tide comes in and out again when the tide goes out. It also depends on the wayer temperature, if the incoming sea water is cold the fish higher up river where the water is warmer. Good water temp for Kob is arround 19-21 degrees. Look out for Leeries smashing bait fish on the surface.
