Hi Guys

I am going to Sodwanna for 10 days of camping and fishing over Easter, and was hoping some of you could help with some info on the area (it will be my first proper trip there). I see on Darryl's post that there are some great secret spots, but I am looking for info on good spots that is easily accessible from the camp-site. I want to target mainly edibles, but the heavier stuff will go along for live baiting. Any info will be much appreciated!

Andre, fishing in the bay at Sunset (in front of the Boat launching site) is a good bet. Some huge Kingies have been landed there on live Shad/Moonies. Also good ineds fishing there and sliding.
Another awesome spot is to the right of the bay, down in front of Mseni Lodge... maybe 500m to the right of the Bay. Some excellent ledges there and good R/S, spinning and dropshot fishing.
The spots that Daryl talks about are Kingfisher Bay and Adlams Reef... these spots are far away, you need an old 4x4 with some hefty fellows in front with Panga's to cut the road open... not recommended...
Further North is Mabibi and Rocktail Bay... a good hour or 2 drive in 4x4 mode, but excellent potential.

By the sound of things and the homework I have done so far, I will be snorkeling and resting during the daylight hours, and fishing the bay in the evenings. I am battling with the bantam's diff lock so I will stick to the close by spots ;-) Is seems I will have to practice my bait presentations and make some proper live bait traces!!

I am looking forward to doing some early morning spinning off the ledges, hopefully I can finally land a kingy longer than a ruler!!!

Any inside info is still welcome! Will any other UA member be in Sodwanna over Easter?

While you're snorkelling around the rocks in the bay, check out the schools of Moonies. These you want to catch as live bait with a tiny hook and piece of Sard in the early evenings. Slide one out as the sun sets and hold tight!

Will do! I also want to try casting some noisy dark plugs in the bay after dark... you never know!
