diving boat accident in Ponta Mamoli

Heard of a boat flipping up side down after dropping divers in Ponta Mamoli yesterday... I used their boat to finish my surveys in Ponta Techobanine on saturday!!!

The tourists had to swim to Techo from the dive site... Nobody injured... Will find out more details...

Got more details on the accident...

The weather was very good so the topman (not the skipper, as he was also the DM), relaxed and after collecting 2 early divers, drifted towards the beach.... when he realized it was time to collect the rest of the group he drove parallel into the backline and flipped... the two tourists were trapped inside the boat... no serious injuries were reported all all divers were safely rescued... the boat's console is broken and the 2 X 100 HP yamaha 4-stroke are probably dead!

Bad bad bad. 12 years or so ago I had to swim out from Aliwal shoal bcause of a skipper being a DM and leaving an unqualified topman on the boat.
