Same situation with myself and Demon Tackle, AndriesH with Blue city, Jaen with his traces, Shag n Release with SnR Tackle. Seems many of us have a side line business going.

Spot on. I wanted to bring in rodbuilding components this year for myself and other builders, but decided against it, because the demand is not that great. I do have a bit of stock but I try to stock myself for my own builds and the odd thing needed gets brought in from the States. Stocking my shelves with rods and components just for show doesn't cut it for me w;k

That would be awesome.

ET, A whole bunch of us want to build our own rods. I think you will have a lot of interest. We have sourced some blanks and components from Mudhole. Just about ready to roll!

Okay Boys I will take some snaps over the weekend and then I will start a Step By Step(SBS) with photos explaining what is what. I will start off with equipment. What to buy, how to build it yourself and then I will get to the rod building part.

Now I will keep it plain and simple and maybe chuck in the odd chirp/tip.

I will call the Thread "SBS Rodbuilding".

I am also thinking of maybe doing a rod building seminar in Pretoria depending on whether there are people interested in it.

Here I will Focus on:

Preparing the Blank
Guide Lay-Out
Guide Wraps & Trims
Epoxy/ Varnish/ Flexcoat
Trouble Shooting, etc.

So if there are people out there interested in something like this, let me know, for I am very keen on doing such a seminar. w;k
