Many of us are familiar with the Bionic chin pin (www.bionicbait.com). These are used for trolling halfbeaks with circle hooks targeting sailfish and small marlin.

Now, what I've to present is a bit of a modification and included a small cigar weight in order to improve the overall swimming action of the bait.

The pics below are self explanatory... the hook used in the pics in not a circle (don't have any small circles in stock - the one shown is a Mustad hoodlum 10/0).

I'm not sure on the final version yet, but when I get a chance will take a photo. Also hasn't been tested yet. In short it is a swivel with two singles attached with wire, and also a bent pin (like yours) attached to the swivel, Its not neat at all, and your neat shin weight has made me reconsider (I was just hanging a 3/8 ounce barrel sinker off it and thinking of tying with a rubber band).

Nice John. What gram sinker have you used and what daim. wire is that?

The sinker is the smallest barrel you can get at Game (7 gr) and the wire is 1 mm... but you can use +100 lb piano wire as well...

As always John, you come up with some good ideas. 

Have you considered using copper wire which you then wrap around the beak? This will help if teh fish misses so he can come back for a second strike as would not have any chance of getting pricked by the wire.

No different to what you have done, just use copper wire instead of stainless.

You can also use the copper wire once through the head to wrap the mouth shut.

My reasoning is that the sharp point if you get a mis strike will prick the fish and he will not come back again for seconds.

Ok now I get it... good point.... I'm sure it will work too.... will try and rig it tomorrow...

Another way of doing it is using a 1 mm thick copper wire instead of the SS and bend it forward once it is in position... then wrap it with the thinner copper wire... this way there's no sticky point out messing with the hook up process...
