first pic a single fish and second a whole lot, range > depth
Question: If out in the deep and trolling where you mostly trying to raise fish from the upper 3rd of the water column, do I correctly understand that you would then set the side scan to say 1/3 of the depth for better results.
OK, now I think I understood, thanks Fishton.Let me first state why I was so sceptic about the range issue (sorry no pics):I troll saltwater for big Cubera Snappers (they can go from 3Kg to 30K in size) water from 3 to 10m deep, I allways have the sidescan range greater than depth and on numerous times I located the Cuberas away from the structure this way, so for me it was very strange Fishton statement. 100%Now I think I understood what he is trying to say (please correct me if I am wrong), on saltwater and bigger depths let's say +25 meters deep, and if you are trying to locate fish and not structure (sometimes you want to locate structure because you know the chances of geting fish there are very high) you should set your sidescan range at less than the area depth to try find those weaker fish signals that in shallower water can be seen but not on bigger depths. Perfect! Is this it ?
Finally I understand.
Good, so when you installing it? I'm running a special right now!
