Spooling station (small and portable)
« on: June 30, 2010, 08:02:10 PM »
Hi all , spooling line is always a pain ,specially if you're on your own , so i came up with this i found in a Basspro shop on a recent trip over in the states, it originally had a suction pad at the base which was pretty useless, so i modified it , making it more user friendly by removing the pad and fitting a handle which screws into a steel base, so u can either have someone hold onto it or secure it to the base when spooling on line ,the adjustable tensioner on it is good for mono , but i doubt it would be good for braid ,unless u uprate the spring to get more tension, pics to follow.

Really awesome. I'm gonna make myself something like that. I'm always alone when preparing my tackle

Nice DIY there Mike. I made a simple one for WP35 to use on the beach if he need to respool. It simply clips on the rod infront of the reel.

Thanks Sailfish , that one u made looks pretty handy as well , i'm going to improve mine a bit more and slightly heavier duty for braid and so on , maybe evena way to attach it to a tacklebox frame , so if u get spooled on the beach or throw a monstorous crows nest u can quickly respool  watch this space.. :win:
