The oil is quite extensively stocked in the eastern cape..I know commercial marine and TJ's tackle stock it on the shelf? Got a tube of corrosion x grease today while I dropped a reel in for servicing.

Getting mixed up between corrosion x and corrosion block - my bad :) I've been using the corrosion block products and have been very happy. Replacing bearings have become a thing of the past..

Reefs, How would one service an anti-reverse bearing like the ones in the older model gold Trinis? I've oiled and greased them but they seem to slip under drag tension.

NO GREASE!!  :shk
Anti-reverse bearing will fail if you grease it.
Once you've cleaned it. 1 drop of oil on your fingertip rubbed onto the metal parts just to prevent corrosion, then wipe it with roller towel..
AR Bearings don't need lubrication, just protection. If your AR bearing is slipping, then it has too much lube on it. Dry it again.

Also make sure when you replace the AR Clutch collar, (that fits inside the AR Bearing) that it has NO GREASE on it! Must be dry.
