Rock and Surf Angling
« on: July 12, 2019, 09:34:37 am »
:fshn: Hi ,... I'm very new at this LAWS about fishing, but I recently visited Arniston for some fishing with my brothers. A Officer approached us to do his routine inspection and check out licences and our catches as well as our bait? Then he said something that I dont agree with, and that is that a Angler is only allowed to have TWO rods to have line in the water! I checked the LAWS and Regulations ie, The Recreational Brochure 2019-2018 pdf, and found nothing as such? Can someone clear this for me please? :dunno:

He's taking a fat chance with you.

Clubs however have competition rules of only 2 rods per angler ( competition rules).

That said what benefit would more rods have? If you get hooked up on all how do you decide which to reel in.
Makes no sense to me.( just my opinion)

I think the rule is any amount of rods, but no more than 10 hooks per rod.

But agree wih Big Ben, prefer angling with one rod, two max if fishing from the beach with holders.

Bigben , I agree with you only in competitions yes. On the other hand I like to have one rod in the stand and with the other I spin with lures? Thanks for the clearing up.
