Riet River in the Eastern Cape
« on: April 11, 2019, 09:26:56 am »
My family and I are going to be at Riet River during July. Please can anybody in that area give me the heads up on what to catch there at this time of the year and any areas that are good to target fish.
Looking forward to getting some good advice

Riet river itself is blind I think....BUT..

as you face the sea take a walk to the left and you will come across three LARGE rock outcrops this area is known as Three Sisters...when the sea is not to big there you can get from black tail all the way up to a leerie and anything in between ....IN FACT...that area is so diverse you could spend ALL your time fishing there..... :tite

Riet itself has very little to offer... Possibly some sports to be had with mullet, but 3 Sisters (as Kent mentioned) as well as beyond, into "Jan Bruin" bay and up to the point toward Kleinemonde is good. Also, drive to Kleinemonde East and walk East up the beach toward the Clayton Rocks... All is very fishable (particularly the Wreck... About 2.5km along the beach). Look for holes... No need for long throws. Good Kob, Grunter, Steenbras as well as ineds.

Lighthouse also used to have great fishing (further east toward Fish River)... Fish River point also great for ineds.
Forgive me Father for I have spinned... It's been three weeks since my last cob session.
