Hi Colin,
Yes it is , I also have the REG of the boat but do not want to publish it ….just wanting to start a "safety"  section where we can all learn, On YOUTUBE there is a huge amount of footage of boats going over but without input we cant determine the actual cause …..I'm trying to learn from the mistakes of others. What I have realised and seen is that less experienced skippers have a tendency to gun an oncoming wave which often sends the boat rocketing to the heavens and that results in all sorts of aerobatics and injuries...

I'm sure whoever was skipping has enough on his plate right now without dealing with internet experts telling him what he did wrong and how they would have handled it better. Hope everyone swam away OK and his insurance is up to date.

To my mind, a discussion around an incident should be focused on everyone being able to learn from said incident so that they can avoid repeats... But I'm just that glass-half-full kinda bloke.

This is the exact reason I started the thread …to learn from mistakes …….. Not to intentionally point fingers ….however this inevitably happens but we need to grin and bear it.....Cum Mundy … YIP he has a load on his plate … but in the interest of others ...let them know what you did or what went wrong ….. in the aviation circles we rely heavily on the mistakes of others to learn ……. this should be no different...…. What I will say is that beach launching is way way more dangerous than any form of  flying …. mainly because it is difficult to determine once you have committed as to what you are going to face, WitSand for instance …can change in seconds...…..

Anyway hears hoping that sanity will prevail ……..
