Saltist BG20 Bearing Sizes
« on: February 22, 2019, 01:11:15 AM »
Howzit guys! I'm looking for the bearing sizes for the Saltist BG20 Multiplier. I've tried searching and checked other forums, but the efforts were futile. I'd like to switch out the current ones with ceramic hybrids.
Additionally, any information in relation to where one can obtain spare brake blocks (red/black) would be appreciated. I somehow lost the little packet it came in with the box.

Cheers  :dwa:

I'm pretty sure that the 20 size bearings are the same as the 30 size. Daiwa tend to use the same bearing sizes throughout the range.  https://www.ultimateangling.co.za/index.php?topic=1702.0

Go to Smoothdrag.com - they supply kits for hybrid bearings. I'm sure you will find the 20 there.
As far as the brake blocks go, think about doing a Static Mag upgrade to the reel, much, much better than the brake blocks. Fishatic supplies them.

Same sizes across the range:
8x14x4 & 4x11x4$27 - $30 for a set.+ shipping + customs VAT should be around 550-odd Rand.

Reefman and Fishatic, thanks so much for the awesome info guys. I'll definitely follow up on that. How much of a difference can one expect with the aftermarket hybrids? Do you guys think its worth forking out the cash on? Additionally, what will a stat mag kit cost right now for the BG20 Fishatic?  :tkx:

R260 installed for the kit.

Before you go beserk with spending cash on the bearings:

Soak the existing ones in brake cleaner to remove all gummed up old oil.

ONE drop of thin oil in each bearing. It will be silly fast.

Alternative to brake cleaner is lighter fluid.
The liquid "zippo" kind, not butane gas
