The Butt Cat mold story is also interesting, the first mold was a concrete ground built effort.
Intrestingly Dave Olufson had a patent on the reverse chine on Ski Vee's and sued another builder (Trimcraft or Coastcraft or Acecraft or something) who copied it, the judge allowed them to carry on but they had to pay Dave royalties on every hull produced until the mold was changed or destroyed.
