I am going to see them next week, thing is that i am not looking for such a big boat, The cost is not a factor and in my mind i think i would like a 17Ft CC , i like spinning and lure angling and know that a 22ft boat is not what i want, have many friends here in richardsbay that has them and can jump up any time.

Thanks for all the reply's guys, nice hearing everyone's perspective.

If they can not build me such a boat i think i will look at a Seacat 520 CC type of boat????

Ok then from what you saying, go for a 17Ft Center Console. There is a very nice one standing at them that is about to be delivered. Its a really really nice boat and if you like spinning and light tackle fishing, i would go for that in a heartbeat. You can easily handle it with 2 people and it runs like a dream with 2 Yammie 70 4strokes, light on fuel and a perfect combination!

Nope, but did see a lot of boats this weekend, i think i will go for a 19 ft cc.
I will go and visit them on tuesday, i am also considering a Tomcatt.

Anyone have a 19ft cc Tomcat that can share their experience?

If you going to go with a 19, then go with a 21ft, there is no difference in towing etc but there is a big difference with space and when the sea gets a bit bumpy! If you worried about size then look at a 17ft. Tomcats are not bad boats but the finishes are below average and in my opinion very overpriced, also I have read about people having workmanship based issues with a couple of them. I have been told that the 21ft Tom is also a lot better ride than the 19ft which apparently is not that nice.

Thats not a bad price for a trailer, BUt again what are you getting? I think my trailer was close to 90K, BUt it isnt some flimsy junk. Its double axle, with LA Axles properly designed and well built. If you paying that kind of money and getting some junk then its a problem. When u get a Quote make sure you compare Apples with apples, take note of what comes Standard and what you have to pay for extra, this was also why I went Yeld Cat, u dont have much to add to the standard boat in the way of extra's, it comes with stainless Steel work, Radio, Carpets, Hatches etc etc....Let us know how your visit goes!!

As Charles said... you can't overstate the importance of a properly designed trailer. Not only for towing safety etc but also to do beach work.

When I got my Yeld19 it came on an original Yeld built trailer. The price I got for the rig was ridiculously cheap considering the value of the trailer.... deploying and retrieving the boat on a recent trip to the Limpopo river mouth was such a pleasure.... even my dad was impressed!!!

Absolutely Marcos, I have never had 1 sec of trouble retrieving my boat, and when you retrieve it a lot on a Slip with side current it is vital to have a trailer that seats your boat straight and nicely! I have seen chaps struggle properly woth this job due to bad designs!

So i visited them today, looked at the boats and they confirmed that they do not build a 19 ft CC anymore and those around are from a old mold, options are a 17ft CC or FC or a 21 Ft CC or FC.

The new 22 Ft is almost done an have a big waiting list, so my problem is not solved yet. To big anyway for me.

However there is light in the tunnel for me as they are busy with a new 18ft design that would be ready in 12 months, i could get the first hull out of the new mold , i think i am going to get a cheapie just to fish and what not now and put a order in for the new 18Ft

I looked long and hard at that 21ft but its to big for me, that 18Ft is going to be the one for me !!!!

Frikster....now you talking!! To be honest i wouldnt even buy a cheapie, hitch a ride with Mates...use that cash you would have on a "Cheapie" and start collecting Tackle and all the bits and pieces..😂😂

The 18ft is gonna be awesome boat and correct the couple small "cons" of the 17ft...
