Poseidon spinning rod
« on: June 13, 2018, 08:59:02 am »
Hi all, I recently broke the tip of my poseidon gold class spinning rod. 11 foot 28g-70g. Had it a while but hardly used it. I know its a long shot, but does anyone have a tip piece they want to sell? The guys at Lucky's said these rods are discontinued.
Regards

You broke it in half or a little off the top?

Depending on how the rod is broken it can be repaired. It will never be exactly the same but you will be able to use it. There is a guy, Wolf Kittel in Pietermaritzburg who repairs rods you could chat to him. His contact details are 0834604860

Who made the blank? Any idea?

If you get the length, tip width and bottom widths and thicknesses etc.. try contact blue marlin and see if they have a mandrel that fits that where they have spare sections? Or get a rod builder to do it on your behalf as someone's gonna have to re-eye for you anyway..

Keane, I have a tip somewhere the rod was lost on a fishing trip but it came with 3 different tips. Will go and look to see if it is the same.

Thanks so much Willy, the rod I'm referring to is a 3 piece rod, with one tip. Please let me know if you have it.

The tips I have is from a Classic and it was a 13ft 6in rod. There are 2 tips a medium and a light. If you can use them you are are welcome to take them and I still have the bag as well.

Thanks Willie , will check with the guys at Luckys if the light tip could maybe be compatible with my rod. Could probably alter it to fit. Either way, it's a better option than not being able to use it at all.
