« on: June 07, 2018, 01:02:23 PM »
Dear members, I trust you are all well.
I have not posted here in ages.
I am going to spend a couple of months in the East London area.
What is good spots, and what species to target this time of year?
(Also what traces bait etc?)

Kindest regards

Francois, do yourself a favour and hook up with Greg Kellerman - he is a guide down that way. East coast angling guides on Facebook. Think it will be money well spent to set you up for the rest of the time you're down there.

Thanks a lot Reefers, that is very good advice.
Will give him a shout.

One of my colleagues is dragging me along to Cintsa tomorrow.
According to the web this seems to be a good spot in the area.
Will let you know if anything happened.

Regards

Just an Update.
So we went to Cintsa West yesterday.
I caught a small blacktail, barbel and stone bream.
Nothing spectacular but just enough to get the dust of the fishing equipment.

If someone heard a guy swearing on the rocks, while fixing overwinds, that was me....  :unhap

All in all an enjoyable day, seems like its still a bit early in the season for shad, but about 4 or 5 came out on spoon and sardine.

Regards

After the gale force winds on Friday and Saturday we decided to go and try Cintsa West on Sunday.
The water turned out a lot cleaner than expected and the fishing was poor.
I only managed a small sandie.

Still fun, will keep on trying.
Does anyone know of fish that came out over the weekend in EL area?
