Hi guys


Here is a little vid on how not to fight a galjoen... I honestly thought it was a cracker and kinda manhandled it out of the bricks.


First fish after a long day so excuse the language.

The interesting thing about these fish is there colouration.  Here is another one caught in the same spot last year.  If you catch one 200m away, from the rocks, they are much darker in colour.


Now either they very quickly change colour when moving to a sandy area, which I doubt, or individuals tend to frequent either a sandy or rocky bottom. What do you guys think?

Its more a camo thing.


If you put a Galie in you cooler for more than 5 min it tends to go Silver on the side that lays on the bottom of a White cooler or bag.

So they are more like a chameleon in the fact that they can quickly change colour - light to dark?

I always thought you get a "rots galjoen" and a "sand galjoen".


Never realised they changed colours like that....


Have heard the "sand galjoen" (silver one) tastes better, but obviously that can't be true, they are the same!
