Boat cover info

Suppose it’s time for a new cover as the last year’s sun and me stretching the canvas to fit the new trolling motor caused some small rips in some places.


So, where in PTA can I get one made that 1. Is waterproof and 2. Won’t have me applying for some sort of financial assistance.

Albeit in Durban, look at "FastSails" done all my boats / trailers with them - thick PVC.

Actually got another contact that do boat covers, but apparently the material he uses is not waterproof and further to that, apparently he makes appointments and then never pitches.


Anyhow, Ben from Coverworxs’ place is a mere 1,5k’s from the office, have several bass fisho’s also saying it’s not the cheapest but it is quality and the service is also great apparently, will give him a buzz.


There’s just one issue I need to resolved regarding the reinforcement of the bottom halve of the quick release bracket, to allow for the difference of 6inches when in use and in transport and see if that will result in the peaceful crossing of the ghost in the machine! When I move the troll motor using the bracket, it seems that because the bottom plate isn’t 200% flat, it causes some mechanical issues and then it won’t deploy! Tested this with the motor in use position, functioning 100%, then move it to the transport position and back to the in use position and low and behold it gets stuck when deploying!

Not my place to stur the hornets nest but wasn't there a couple of members that was not so satisfied with their covers a couple of years ago? I remember some not to friendly posts about it. maybe do a search on the forum and see what you get. Phones screen is way to small to do delicate searches like that. I remember Toppie was involved to try and get it sorted as he knew the guy

I also recall something like that, but the guys in our bassing group all seems to be pretty happy with service and quality, albeit the pricing is a bit steep. One blokes’ boat and engin cover 18ft Triton with a 150 Suzuki 4stroke had a cost of R6k.


The other contact I got, apparently is the bloke that makes appointments but never honors them and his covers are not waterproof!


Still need to sort out the quick release bracket Ghost before I can take the boat in for this, so I still have time to search and see who does what.

I USED  SOMEONE CALLED BERTIE HE IS IN PRETORIA , HE DID A GOOD JOB ON MY COVERS 4 YEARS AGO AND I ALSO ASK HIM TO MAKE NEW CANOPY COVER LAST MONTH  I AM HAPPY WITH THE WORK HE DID AND IS NOT EXPENSIVE AT ALL
