Watched it since yesterday, hoping for it to bring some rain, and possibly flush open the st lucia estuary mouth.
It is however predicted to remain a tropical storm and make landfall in the Inhambane area by friday, causing it to rapidly loose strength over land.
Will cause a higher swell and some rain over the kruger and far north kzn.
Hoping for it to move further south though.

Kobus Botha is a serious weather guru. Love his site. The nullschool site looks amazing. Thanks Sard.

I quite enjoy Bryn de Kocks site as well. http://www.stormchasing.co.za/ as well as the eumetsat site http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/IPPS/html/MSG/IMAGERY/IR039/BW/SOUTHERNAFRICA/index.htm

Following this one closely. Could use the rain, not the wind...

seeing wind speeds  of up to 78k's however it seems to move very slowly, hence some predictions that it'll make landfall by Friday only.
When I die, will somebody please dress up as the Grim Reaper and attend, don't need to do or say anything, just stand there!

Every time I look at rain predictions for my area, they go up in likelihood and volumes... It's looking like we're going to get dumped on. We've had quite a bit of rain this season after last year's debilitating drought, and generally speaking, the ground is fairly saturated so we can expect all of this to end up very swiftly in dams and rivers. The dams are all chocolate brown already so local fishing plans will be put on hold for another month or so. But it will be nice have our dams full again.

Hope so, big swells and rain just mean more R&Rs and less fishing.

Tail of Dineo hitting Maputo now. Strong wind and gusts, a bit of rain and lots of dust all over. Just left the club. Nothing would make me go sea right now... ugly as the devil himself!

Hear via the grapevine from someone in Inhambane that it has not been as bad as was expected. Hope that's accurate and that it stays that way  :rain:

Yeap.... seems like the beast is blowing itself out. But can't trust these things.... Favio behaved more or less the same in 2007 and caused lot's of damage...
