:welc: Willie! Glad you got the posting thingie right!

With edibles fishing, lighter line will always get more strikes that heavier, so my suggestion for a rod that length would be 0.35mm to 0.4mm maximum. Lots of good lines out there... Kingfisher Giant abrasion, Double X, Maxima... and the local brand T-line, which is usually half the price of the others... good value. And don't forget to use a leader! (Roughly your leader should be just under 2x the diamter of your mainline). If you're using 0.35 mainline, then get 0.60-0.70 Kingfisher leader line. To join the 2, check out the knots section... now the fun starts!!

Thanks! I go to Moz often at least once a month. Used to stay at Kay Kwanga but it is better in Matola at a place called Vanquita as I am going for work and dont have to drive through Maputo. I aquired land in Praia do Beline. So will go fish there soon.

Yes the lease is in my name. The thing about this 99 yr lease is that I can sell it to my son at any time he will only have to pay the costs which is similar to transfer cost and then he will own it again for 99 yrs. I will be in Maputo on 9 nov and 10 nov. Will make arrangements to see you and will bring all my documents with that you can see what we have done.

From my experience using a big rod and a coffee grinder you can load your rod with .45 and use it to target eds and small sharks... XX Hi abrasion is a dream on the coffee grinder!!!

Thanks for all the advice. I think my set up is ready for fishing the only other problem how do you land the fish. I battled for 15 min with the fish only to loose it in the breakers, it bended my 2/0 hook open. I am battling to get the fish onto the beach specialy when the wave are a bit rough.

Hi Willie... Practice makes perfest and the thing about fishing is you will never land every fish you hook... To give yourself the best chance you need to have decent tackle. When you buy hooks, line etc. try to stay away from the cheaper stuff, I have had a lot of problem with certain types of hooks of the years... And if you really want to land that fish use heavier line and a thicker leader...

Willie... this is where the Bimini twist comes into it's own... a Bimini twist in your mainline which then attaches to your leader. This knot has the most amazing strecth and shock absorption and was designed specifically for the landing of fish right next to a boat. It was adapted for R/S purposes to be much more forgiving in the shore break. A Bimini, along with patience is the way to go. If the fish is not tired enough to be brought in through the shore break, rather loosen your drag and time it right. You need to try and use the waves to your advantage in bringing a fish in...

Eishsss reefman as I said when I joined I am a appy but learning fast. The day will come that I will be able to post a picture of a big one. I am also not using the correct hooks hopelessly to small. Carlos have invited me to go out with him. I have never been out onto sea so don't know how my body will react but certainly going to give it a try. It was nice to meet the guys in Moz.
