Quick EC Report
« on: October 01, 2015, 04:22:19 PM »
Hi guys, went down to Kenton on sea recently for my brother-in-laws birthday, and to do some fishing. The wind was blowing in all sorts of directions, and blew hard most of the time. The weather was indifferent and the water was crystal clear, absolutely beautiful, but not so great for fishing... We struggled to catch any decent fish, not through lack of trying. We managed 5 or so fish between 30cm and 35cm and the rest were all very small. We managed a few small fish on fly, and got bitten off very early by Shad on a few occasions...

So here are some pictures, will post some videos in this thread soon:  http://www.ultimateangling.co.za/index.php?topic=20352.0

Fish Count:

•   Cape Stumpnose x101
•   Pinky x7
•   Blacktail x17
•   Karanteen x42
•   Super Klipfish x1
•   Twotone Fingerfin x2
•   Zebra x9
•   Cape Moony x2
•   White Stumpnose x2
•   Evil Eyed Puffer x1

Total: 10 species, 184 fish.

Hope you enjoy  :ult:

Haha thanks bru, most of those are only good enough live baits to actually catch live bait!

Hi Lenny, thanks! We always do throw live baits, big lures and bigger baits in the surf, but when the conditions are not right we would rather scale down and catch fish than blank.

I have lost countless cracker, bronze bream, gully sharks and shad because of the lighter tackle, so the pain gets felt a lot. I have also landed some nice size fish of these species on the lighter tackle which always makes it worth it in the end. The only crackers I have landed have been on heavy gear, and were very small, but will get one on the lighter stuff one day  :-)
