Guides
« on: September 09, 2015, 08:49:01 AM »
I noticed the eyes on my two Kiabutsu rods are mounted in opposite directions. One is second hand so assumed that maybe the eyes had been re fitted at some point, but then realised that my Jigwrex has the same layout.
What is the science behind guide supports? Is there a reason for the different mounting?

I don't think they are the same kind of guides. The middle one has the Fugi KW guides. The other ones are too upright to be KW's.

Are the KWs mounted in reverse, or is that standard?

The others are Fuji MN's.
Very little, if any benefit to mounting the butt guide backwards with MN's.
The idea is that the single leg facing the reel offers less frame /leg for the coils of line from a fixed spool to bang against.
Problem is that in general the MN's are too large in dia relative to their height for this practice to have any real benefit.
Was done by the factory.
