Slide Mods
« on: December 17, 2014, 11:11:28 AM »
Hi all
I thought that I would share this little pearl of wisdom that was once shown to me by a fellow angler. Someone that I highly respect in the angling world.

We all are familiare with the regular slide that looks like so:

It is really a simply process of re-bending it as follows

and then bending it to the desired shape

I have been doing this for a few years now and have seen the difference, your bait gets to the target area a lot quicker and it really help in the surf zone as you get your slide moving a lot quicker. I will also add that I have never had a problem after using this mod. Hope it helps

Hi Guys.  I only really go to try this slide modification now.  I know most people have moved on to Braid and grinders, I had to try it.  I use the buddy slides.  I bent the slide as per Habibs instructions and slide out big baits on a fairly flat beach.  There was quite a big sandbank that I had to get over, and the bait went out no problems.  The baits included a shad of about 900grams,  whole yellow tails.  In total i slid 4 baits, and had 4 pulls with no burn offs.  In my opinion the slides went out really well.  Off course it might have been different if there had been a different formation.

All in all thanks for the tip!  It worked for me
