Bicycle tube to prevent slipping reel

This works very well, I use them on my heavy sticks. Just an extra tip though....cut the rubber strip so that when you are gripping the spool with it, it is under tension so that when you cast and release the strip it shoots back and out of the way. This helps to prevent black marks on your line from the rubber which can occur from time to time.
 
It is the single best tip i have ever recieved to assist throwing big baits and heavy sinkers!

Great stuff Reefer. Sometimes I use a bicycle tube piece which I cut to the size of my thumb.  I use a slightly tight piece to prevent it from slipping when a cast is executed.  Works wonders as well.
