Lovely Report. Pity about the conditions.

Hard luck gents, that's how it goes with the weather unfortunately. We had 5 days of wind in RB end of September.

As for the locals netting, not cool at all. Seeing this, does it not discourage you to keep going back to Kosi, surely it is also the reason for the poor fishing??

That is an incredible catch Mr Pike on that tackle

In the second pic, the guy with the white cap, runs on his own to the dunes at the back, where he hides the net in the bushes, while the others row back to the beach in a canoe (which is illegal to use at Kosi!)

Well as mentioned the weather was well ..... what weather , huge pounding surf , sidewashes , undercurrents and that poison wind that blew non stop for 4 days  , baits came back clean and untouched and if it wasnt for the great company and food that Isi was cooking up in the kitchen i would have lost the plot , but  we slogged away regardless in the wind and poor conditions and eventually got some fish of sorts from micros to a nice sized ray ,as for the locals plundering the mouth and estuary.. ..    ... ended up fishing the estuary on low tides which is always fun and beats a day at the office hands down , herewith some pics of the week at Kosi ..   Tackle as far as the eye can see , thx Mias ..   , a selfie somewhere up the estuary. and the mouth filling up and nice and wide on a spring high.

Nice size Bartail flathead , got two of these great fun on ultra light tackle.

Finally after a mean tug of war landed the ray out in the estuary somewhere with the help of Isi and some frantic paddling and reeling in on  a small blow up boat , was great sports and must have looked hilarious from the side , huge respect for the tackle i used to land the ray ad for Mike jumping in at the deep end , talk about an adrenalin rush ... , although foul hooked ray put up a impressive fight and stretched me and tackle to breaking point ......... , great time had by all , till next time ..
