Here's the start to our report, more to follow as the pics come in.

Wednesday 8th Oct

Wednesday started off early for the team of Fishin’ for Reel  (FFR), leaving Nelspruit at 03:00 in order to meet the guys from Hammered and  Seaducer in Komatipoort who had driven down from Gauteng on Tuesday afternoon  and were ensconced at one of lodges. By all reports we would have to deal with  a few sore heads as a result of their festivities on Tuesday night.
The drive went a lot  quicker than expected and we arrived early so proceeded to fill up the boat  tanks before meeting them at their lodge; once all were ready we headed for the  border post at 05:30 to find a fairly long two lane line up waiting for the  place to open at 06:00. Things went smoothly and by 07:20 we were finished with  all formalities. FFN left first to drive slowly whilst the other two boats  caught up.
Once Seaducer caught up with, us we got the news that  Hammered had blown a trailer wheel baring but that all was under control and  they were in the process of fitting a new one so that we should continue to  Escola Nautica where they would meet up with us. We pulled into Maputo at about  10:30 after an uneventful drive, although very slow what with much road works  going on.
We proceeded to unhook the boats on the slip and packed all  the kit onto the boats in preparation for the crossing. Part way through this  exercise, John F arrived with all our documentation and half beaks and  peterblace arrived at 12:15 to join us for lunch and a few refreshments at  Escola Nautica’s pub where we waited for the incoming tide. The Hammered crew  arrived very soon after, having made a lot better time than we did. Eventually  there was sufficient water in the bay for us to launch and so we headed for the  boats. The launch was simple with the aid of the facilities tractor and we  gathered in the bay until all were ready for the crossing.
A fresh south easterly breeze had picked up and the bay was  a bit of a mess, making the crossing a bit uncomfortable with many big thumps  through the big holes and chop. However the crossing took an hour which wasn’t  too bad under the circumstances.

On arriving in the sheltered Inhaca Bay the water was  smooth, a big contrast and we pulled into the Manico Camp anchorage through the  gap in the mangroves at about 16:00 to be met by the friendly staff and eager  gillies who offloaded the boats and allowed us to crack a case of Tipo Tinto  that peterblace had kindly arranged for us to relax and shoot the breeze in the  camp pub.
We had arrived safely and were excited for 4 days of good  fishing.

Here's my start to a kind of a report thingy.

Well it all started on Wednesday when we drove to Komatipoort to meet Pete, Darren and SEADUCKER. We stayed the night at a small Inn a km from the boarder, we had prego rolls and a few juices. BECAREFUL they put something in their rolls which gives you a hangover.......
the next morning we met up with Tony and his crew and headed off to the boarder and thankful it went quit quickly. Just after we got through one of my wheel bearings went and luckily we found a guy who got us new ones. We put them in and carried on to Maputo to meet the boys at Escola Nautica. We all had lunch and a few juices and got together with Marcos and Pedro, a BIG thanks  :+ cred: to them for all they did for us.
We launched around 2.30, there was a horrible chop on the water that made the trip a bit bumpy, but hey we where all bullet proof cause we were going fishing  :fshn:.
When we got to the island the gillies were waiting for us and off loaded our boats and we were shown to our little huts. A fire was made and the RED juice flowed late into the night.

2 Prego rolls caused the sore heads

Part 2

The next morning the boys got up early some where a bit sore but we made it onto the boats and out we went. Out deep the wind was already blowing and the sea was still lumpy. All the boats were scouting the sea for fish, Fishing For Reel got a nice keeper couta and Hammered got a 7kg little eastern tuna and a 9kg yellow fin tuna. Seaducker decided to keep scouting............
Deep sea fisherman don't blank, they just keep scouting.
Any way the next day Seaducker got 3 couta and a good one of 11kg's, Fishing For Reel and Hammered ended up scouting for the day.

Part3

The third day was a blow out so the group did what they do second best - We spent the day drinking and telling war stories :hyst:
The 4th was just fishable so we all launched and went south, Fishing For Reel was first on the board with a yellow fin and then a while later with another one. Hammered was next with a 9kg couta and the Seaducker had a double up and landed 2 yellow fin tuna's. The sea was still on it's head with the wind and white horses every where.

Pete very kindly did a quick tut on how the pose with your fish for the camera. He sportingly used his huge pick handle barracuda he caught amongst a school of bait fish  :hyst:

1 How most anglers hold their fish to make them bigger
2 How you should hold it for the camera
3 If you can, try and show the length of the fish by holding it by the tail. As you can see it is just a few inches shorter than Pete.
