The best tip is just to put your line in the water and fish! The more time you put in the luckier you get! I think we all ask the question as to where to fish what bait to use etc., but in the end is is how much effort you put in and the weather conditions. Unfortunately when you have set dates that steers you then the weather conditions also doesn`t matter. 


There is so many places to fish and such a variety of fish to catch! Fresh bait helps, live bait probably the best.

This is me. I fish when I am in the mood. If we go away for the weekend and we at some water, I will take a rod or 2. I am not too fussed about the best spot etc. I look at the water, make a decision and fish. I am lucky sometimes.
Although fishing is more of a part time hobby for me.

And I am contemplating , is it worth it .

It’s a pity , that there persons , the think people don’t know the area , yet the same person belongs to a club , that fishes that area ….


Then moaning about releasing fish , they guys. Who know me , know I don’t tolerate , any form of plundering .




Then agian , the. Experience factor.


I have been fishing for mor than 20 years ( if you count in the 4 to 6 years ,messing around in rock pools , with my father ) more than 25 years . I was fishing for yellowtail in the late nineties , when we trolled rapalas ha ha ha


So of these guys are not even 24 years old… same persons , lurking , forwarding screen shots on wa groups ( stuff your wa groups)

Hey Lenny, it is very unfortunate regarding what has happened to you in recent times.

I think i speak for all of us on UA when i say that we will always support your business and keep the information that you post in high regard is it has helped a lot of us over time.

That said, what has the fishing been like over the past week or 2, i am headed up that way with a few friends of mine this weekend and hoping that we come into a few fish while we are that side.

Lenny you always get such ass holes. I come here just to read up on your updates of how fishing is going on in Struisbaai. I mostly fish in summer. Keep up the great reviews. Looking to catch some good fish in Struisbaai this year. Only managed two cob last year.

We heading struis on the self made long weekend 16th June.

Few months ago we were also there, and we attempted to get to the plaat at night.
This is the first time I have been there for many years.

We took the dirt road in and was greet with the big sand dune as you head onto the sand. That was never there before. I rember in the past, you hit the sand and came to small "parking lot" where you could park and walk to the beach but still see your vehicle .
I caught nice belman and galjoen straight ahead of this "parking"

Did not want to tackle this sand dune at night.

Is it do-able? I walked over the hill. Going in seemed do-able, but coming back seemed a bit dodge with some turns at the foot of the hill.
With my old 2.2 petrol hilux, i would have given it the beans and fly up there. But with the old D4D diesel donkey, i'm much more sceptical of anything sand.

Hi, I've seen Nissan NP200 going over that dune, you should be ok.
