You going to spin with a Multiplier?? That's going to be a long and frustrating business. The C/Grinders that they make nowadays are much better suited to the application.

I cant comment on the more recent rods , as its a facet of fishing I cant do anymore due to Mobility reasons.

What I have heard , and seen the guys use is the Sensation Rugged ,[i know theres a few in the Rugged range I would be the lighter ones of the range ] think its 11,6 they fish with 2 to 3 ounce Lures [CLones for Cob from the surf ] they fish a Small Penn multipliers .

Let us know what you decide . :hnthnt:

Ph like reef say spining with a multiplier hell of a job unless you using a levelwind type multiplier? look at the new berkely venom 10ft very light weight rod with a hell of alot of pulling power!!

VERY valid points Reefman .

and with Braid , you will score on distance on your cast , and will generally be light to fish with all day long  :happ: .

If your Spinning with a Grinder .My suggestions , it might not be for you .

Adrenalin 10ft xxh , Its a three piece stick , tuff as nails , but will have to replace the eyes after a year or so, pending on how hard you fish its ect . Rated 1 to 3 ounce , a 4000 to 6000 Grinder  20 lbs Fireline , and you will putt a 3 ounce plug to outerspace :yipee: , this rod comes in under the r1000.00 mark , BARGIAN if you ask me [have a geez at some of the thread on UA about  the Rods .

Next will be the Sensation Dominator 10'6 al very nice rod also rated 1 to 3 ounce . better guides , think last one i saw was about R1200.oo

Pending on the areas you fish , this might be too light .
I just saw your Budget , so forget what i said :creep: :creep: :hehe:

And that setup will be VERY hard to beat! Tops tops tops! Great rod, brilliant reel, but make sure it's the new Sustain FG... http://www.ultimateangling.co.za/index.php?topic=10001.0
Put some 30lb Sufix 832 on it and you're A for away.

My 20 cents here ;

A popular spinning set-up utilised here in the southern cape is the Blue Marlin Raptor, matched with a Penn Sargus and 20lb braid.
Throws a decent 80mtrs, ideal for Leervis off the rocks.

Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

Saw an Article in out Local Paper in the week , Where Barry Wareman , fished Simonstown beach for Yellowtail over the Festive season , he fished a Leseth rod , dont know anything about it except It might cost an arm and a leg .
I do know the spot he fished and most others those fish there are just out of reach with a long cast. Yes he got 1 tail out of 4 trips , on a Glow Green bullet spoon.GOOD STUFF
Anybody knows anything about these rods ?

Shimano Lesath - top of the range spinning rod that the pro's use. Fritz has one. Very expensive rod but apparently awesome. Has a high pressure Carbon blank.
