Nice report bud. It's a trip that I've had my eyes on for quite a while. I hope I can manage it in '13.
Forgive me Father for I have spinned... It's been three weeks since my last cob session.

After a few   :2m: that evening, and checking the weather report we where ready to leave early the next morning. Around 5:30 am we launched and headed off to the channel to try catch some bait, i quickly saw showings with my new Airmar p66 transducer(Very happy with it)  and dropped a few mozuris and quickly filled the live bait well.
We headed off to the buoys however on arrival there where quite a few local boats there so decided to give this spot a skip and head off to Jeremia's. The sea was a bit on it's head, and a few of my crew proceeded to feed the fish in fine style. :cnfzd :cnfzd . Once we arrived at Jeremia's we saw some bird activity so i decided to rig up a few small konas and some williamson jet heads and work the activity a bit. Before long we had a take on the jethead and after a nice firght we landed a small YFT around 8kg. The fishing was pretty hard and between 2 boats we landed about 6 YFT and about 6 bonnies.. not one take on live bait??
would some one please tell me how they catch yellowfin tuna off Durban as regular practice? or anywhere else for that matter?

Nice report, excellent fishing compared to what we are used to but I wonder if you perhaps could share some waypoints with me especially Jeremias, B52 and anything around Inhaca/Macaneta Island etc as we are planning a trip there in March next year. We might just opt to use the same camp for our purpose

Ditto! And FYI macaneta is not an island! It's a peninsula

Thank you for the correction ito the correct identification of the "Island" We here in Komatipoort has always refered to Macaneta as the island but I will be sure to correct this in future conversations. I will explore the other threads as suggested.
This will however have to wait until next year as we are expecting our big rush of travellers to start later this afternoon until the 24th.
I guess getting little sleep will be the order of the day!!

Here are a few spots to get you going. These are general marks. You need to to a bit of exploring and work you way to find the fish:

Jeremias S25 57.830 ; E33 02.559.
Very large ledge. Runs in a NE-SW direction for about 6 km. Some nice pinnacles and lot's of bait.

Baixo Danae S25 54.292 ; E 33 03.115
Large reef with several excellent dive spots. Good drop-offs on both seaward and landward side.

B24 S25 53.166 E33 03.884
Nice pinnacles just N-NE of Baixo Danae. Good drop-offs on the seaward side. Worth exploring.
If the weather is a bit inclement fish around the buoys... there's always couta there....

Macaneta is on the other side of the bay! Long way if you'll be based at Inhaca....
