Hello great people from  :ult:

I have discovered something very dangerous... Ebay auctions... I have succumbed to 2 auction fever buys... Abu Garcia Ambassadeurs, Made in Sweden... Looking to use them for Shad and Aussie Salmon... Ebay works too easily here from down under, if you bide your time and watch auctions you can pick up great steals! This one is a 6500C. This one was made in 1969:

"During the time your reel was manufactured, the 6500 series was revolutionary for surf and salmon fishing. The core specifications for the vintage 6500 C include:Origin: Made in Sweden.Gear Ratio: 4.7:1 (Classic slow, high-torque retrieve).Bearings: "C" designates that the reel features ball bearings, typically upgraded from original bushings."

Anybody fish with these Abu Garcia's still?

Good reels Bud , my mate here ONLY uses the 6500C series , he has the red ones ...I find they are brilliant when clean and they do not like saltwater on them and do not like swimming....that being said  , my mate has modded his over the years to combat the sea water....also I find them a tad finicky to service and work on....Im busy servicing one now for a good customer of mine...
Just GO FISH!!!
