In the photo below one can see the undersized fish with one or two larger ones. These fish never made it to the Kalk Bay Harbour. This the Arendse Trek. Anel from DAFF confirmed that these never arrived there. The scary thing is that it seems like this form of fishing is not only destroying a large part of the juvenile fish stocks, but also taking the protected species now in shoals.Arendse Trek @ Strandfontein - note undersized baby fish.

Before you criticise me rather set out a nice "non troll" way of dealing with the Guateng story so that I can follow it in future.
An eye witness told me first hand how the owners wife (Val) was telling the workers to conceal the small fish under a tarp so that no-one would see what they were taking. Very sad.
Fish sold inland gets a very good price and is worth the effort

It is not that important since Robin had said that he did not mean that the fish was actually sent to Gauteng so we could leave it if you prefer.

More from the Arendse Trek. There are numerous undersized fish in amongst this load. An eye witness told me first hand how the owners wife (Val) was telling the workers to conceal the small fish under a tarp so that no-one would see what they were taking. Very sad.

Fact is, I work with shipping fish to JHB alot. I would believe Robin that those fish could have been carted north ;) True story

Robin had said that Aziz took them in his bakkie to Gauteng. I still don't believe that it would pay anyone to drive 2 bins undersize in an unrefrigerated 1980's Isuzu from Cape Town to Jhb. I am being serious I just don't think that it would be economically viable.
