1 November 2012, Day 12 - Tecomagi
All good things come to an end. That's how life goes. Today was our last day. Tomorrow we fly back to Pemba and then Maputo.
We had just a bit of wind throughout the day but the swells were large. We had a late start at 08:00 as our sites were close to the anchorage. Just before we got to the first site (and we were already kitting up) the one rod with a strip bait goes bam! Depth was about 60 m, fast approaching shallower depths. It was a nice great barracuda of about 3 kg. Photo and release.

The 2 dives were tough. Although the sites were shallow (3-7 m), the large swells caused lots of surge and lifted sediment with consequent bad viz.
A close encounter after our last dive. Only in Africa such contrasts are possible...

Finished the work and got on our way to the anchorage.
Rods were in the water again. We saw a few dorries jump out of the water as they were chasing flying fish right next to us, but none got interested in our lures.
And that's the end of this fantastic trip. Had some great fishing, awesome diving and made new friends. I'm both grateful and humbled for the opportunity and hope you guys have enjoyed it as much as I did. Thanks for your comments and encouragement.
Sunrise in Tecomagi Is.

Cheers!
