Zimbabwe border

Has anyone been to Zim lately and know what it is like at the Beit Bridge border post - and what fresh meat and veg you can take through?

I am going up (via Beit Bridge) to the Zambezi at Mana Pools on 4 October and want to be prepared

The last time I went through was in 2008 and the border was chaos and it cost us lots of money in "facilitation".

I also hear that you can no longer take meat and veg through the border......this will certainly affect what we take along. I usually pre-cook meals and vacuum pack meat - then put into a cooler with dry ice - this keeps meat fresh for at least 6 days if you do it properly. If I have to buy meat in Harare it means a waste of travelling time - and I am sure not to find dry ice there  - especially on a Saturday morning early
