Hi Herman - Thanks for the challenge. I know that f/f yields more results in some instances and venues. Instead of making it a challenge, why don't you take a couple of amateurs like me and have a sort of "workshop" to teach us the fine art of flyfishing for yellows at your venue? THEN we have a challenge!! I truly love using the fly rod but just find it frustrating wondering IF I am doing it right, IS there fish where I fly, AM I using the right fly, WHERE should my strike indicator be etc. etc. etc. - with conventional angling it is relatively easy. I really appreciate all the knowledge we get on this forum - but nothing beats hands on experience.

Christo, I regularly organise Vaal trips, with the express mission of helping "newbies" find their way. The next one will be in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Keep an eye on the Vaal Update thread as well as the general f/f thread. I just need to do a bit more "prospecting" ito the rock snot at the various venues, before making the decison.
Im testament to the help Herman, Rory and others have offered...Now just to get thos e damn wading boots !
