Hi Jaen

Big Van bought the truck from the World Cat owner.
Beautiful boat -but please pm Tsutsuma as he knows the boat well.

Big Van had a plan with the truck, I have to do my license to tow the rig and he will drive down with the Cruiser.
The older boys enjoy their luxuries, I enjoy driving the truck but you are knackered after a trip.

We towed down to Richards bay over the long weekend, it took us 10 Hours to get there.

But I am impressed with it's towing and that Cummins motor is a beast.

I'll ad the photo of it attached now to our boat.

bennie, strange you dont like the pajero. I havnt been in pajero 4, but I have a swb pajero 3. The motor is a bit noisy, sounds like the older isuzu 2.8d, but the pwer is very decent. I dont find the gear changes to be bad at all, but it is my first auto box. Would have prefered manual, but they dont do it. Personally I do prefer my old mans prado, but his is the 3l diesel and it lacks power compared to the pajero. 90odd KW s just not enough. But i did get it for a bargain. 160 for 2004 with 60 on the clock, Bought from my outlaws. The motor on them is one of ther best around and problems are minimal, especialy when compared to LR, But even then I think GONOW is more reliable.  w;k

Yip the TATA is a truck. Drawbacks is they tow at a very low speed and you will need a second vehicle for driving around (work etc). Advantage it is tremendous for beach work.

A friend is selling his fully rigged. He bought it two months ago and said he'd rather stick with his F250 which is modified. If anyone is interested PM me and I will pass his number onto you. No idea what he is asking.

Ja, maybe when my son is old enough to drive, I'll buy a truck! He can drive the truck and I'll meet him there later with the Cruiser! But he's only 6 now and I can't see myself in the truck hours on end! Although it will be peacful, make the wife sit at the back... Hmmm, thinks some more!!

Just reminded me of this one...

It was a small town and the patrolman was making his evening rounds..
As he was checking a used car lot, he came upon two little old ladies sitting in a used car..
He stopped and asked them why they were sitting there in the car or were they trying to steal it?
'Heavens no, we bought it.'
'Then why don't you drive it away.'
We can't drive.'
Then why did you buy it?'

'We were told that if we bought a Used car here
we'd get screwed ...so we're just waiting.

OK, just to clarify the towing law issue...

Regardless of what it says on paper, the vehicle manufacturer may say you can tow a Bus, it does not matter. You may only tow a trailer that does not exceed the the tar of the vehicle. Be careful, My trailer is well capable of carrying 3,5 tons and the GVM on the trailer plate states this. This may be a problem if my new car does not weigh this much as this is what the cops work on. Even if the trailer is empty!

Tar - Vehicle mass
GVM - Gross vehicle mass

In simple terms.. Trailer GVM < Vehicles tar.

My average fuel consumption towing was 18ltrs/100km or 5,6km/ltr. Not bad at all considering we were fully loaded on top of WitchCraft's 2,6 tons. Plenty power. Towing speed was 100km/h
