halco, xrap which ones

your assistance please.
i just stood before a wall or lures, did not realy know what to look for etc.
 
there are rapala magnum, 20 feet and 30 feet
halco lures etc.

SS, Ja them "rapalas" can be a nightmare to choose.
IMO, you need CD14 and CD 18 in Red Head (the original Rapalas, metal beak)
X-Rap, Lots of differnt colours but go with what tickles your fancy. A dorado colour (green) a blue back, clearish belly and then a mix)
CD 14 and CD 18 in Blue mackrel , or pearl orange mackrel) all been good colours everywhere I have fished.
 
For value for money also get a few storm lures. 1/2 the price of rapala and halco but work well. Similar tot he x-raps in that they swim deeper. here 15-18cm will work for most things.
to start with you need say 10 raps max. Then you buy as and when you like to add to the collection.

If you buying halco get the crazy deep sorcerer pink/chrome! I've all sorts of gamefish on that lure!

SS I have had a lot of experience with halco lures and seen a lot of right ups... The best in my opinion are as follows:

Sorcerer 90 Red & White
Sorcerer 90 Pink
Sorcerer 68 Firetiger

Larger lures

Laser Pro 120 & 160 Pink
Laser Pro 120 & 160 dark green and sardine... the mullet and multicolours are also winners!

The Halco Barra 80 is also a superb lure in red and white, fluoro green and firetiger colours

The SOrcerer 150 red and silver Halco Max and the new Hamma are also excellent lures and I have heard a lot of positives about them!

The same lures generally work everywhere, inshore and estuaries that is and colour doesnt not matter too much, it all depends on the clarity of the water and how you can match it with a contrasting lure colour...

Colours: (note this doesn't include brand, just buy the brand that looks appealing to you)
Sardine
Red head
Pearl orange (white body, orange stripes on it)
Fire tiger (green and yellow, black stripes)
Mackerel
Bonito
Black on top, white on bottom
And maybe a chartreuse colour
Get say one of each in sizes from 7cm to 20cm and you'll catch most gamefish
I read FA's article on lures about how a lot of fish respond to a lure by reaction strike. It's true that a lure can look nothing like a fish, but will still get eaten because of a particular colour/vibration/sound/movement that it makes
@Sea sick, trolling can be VERY boring. It isn't a magical method of catching fish. Some days you will be thick into the fish, others you will slog it out for hours and not have a pull. Persistence is key
Take a spinning stick along and cast out small lures like dropshots, marias, onde ondas, etc to stop from getting bored. You will be constructive, and might have your lure land on a fish's head... I do this on a boat and mainly do it to keep me occupied, not really to catch fish, but I have caught fish doing it, which was just a bonus...
