That is an schweet couta what is the record for rock and surf surely that's a contender?

cant claim for a record as the bait was taken out with the dingle hopper and not casted out and the trace length shorter than 9m (thats from the top of your bimini twist to the end of your trace)
A wise man once told me life is to short for ugly girls and cheap fishing tackle!

Hi Benni,

Suspended in the water column I can understand but with a conventional fixed shark trace with a very short sinker snoot, this bait must have been on the ground.

Neil you would actually be surprized but very seldomly does the bait actually sit on the sand or bottom...the bait usually suspends off the bottom making it easy pickings for something swimming by.

Thanks for the info Mayor Raj. Much appreciated.
To put it into perspective, Dean has caught some awesome in-eds wth the assistance of the Dingle Hopper.
Because of his work committments he cannot fish as much as he likes, the beauty of the bait boat is that he can fish selective times and tides , and put big, big baits into very good water. Dean just does not drop a bait behind backline, he selects the drop off carefully, like an edge of a rip.
By a big bait, i mean really big. To put a bonnie head out 250m that weighs 2.5kgs is good value.
