Sting Rays on the money there.
I would add honey floaties and dip to the mix.
As a general rule, I use almond, honey, pink sweets, bunspice, caramel when the action and tempo is high (normally in spring/summer months).
I switch to perdeby, gumtree, vicks; paint/spirits (sharper scents and flavours) when the action / tempo is slow going (normally in winter months).
Garlic works in both conditions/scenarios.
Having said that, I have caught fish using all the abovementioned dips/floaties in both scenarios ie: used interchangeably.
There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to dips and floaties etc.
My theory is if you want to catch a fish, you gotta have bait in the water.
So go out there and experiment and fish the location and conditions and you would be surprised at what you learn.
On a more serious note, we have no control over what a fish feels like eating at any specific given time. What we have control over is your rig, and rod and terminal tackle etc. Concentrate on that so that when that personal best or fish of a lifetime comes along, it stays stuck and you are not left wondering what if?.
Tight Lines Nimo and keep us posted with your progress. Maybe we can learn a thing or two from you. We who have been too long in the game can become set in our ways. It is good sometimes to just take a step back and take a re-look at what we do.
